REVIEW: S.he Makeup Lipsticks!

Ok my loves! I have a review on these beauties for you guys! I am so excited to talk to you all about these lipsticks. It was pure accident that I stumbled upon them at my local King Dollar store (store kindof like Dollar Tree but instead of everything being one dollar, everything is $1.15). My store had a pretty huge color selection of these lipsticks but being that they were in such a store as the King Dollar, which I'm not knocking in anyway, I have actually found some great finds in the King Dollar. However, on the other hand I have also found some big duds. So, that being said I didn't want to pick up too many of them just incase they weren't that great. I chose three of them.

First, let's talk about the packaging. It is so pretty! It is a glossy finish with an ombre effect of hot pink chrome and black. It doesn't get much better than that. As you can see in the above photo, each lipstick also has a color block on the end of it that shows you what the color of the lipstick will look like. Now if your anything like me you don't trust those little color blocks for nothing because 9 times out of 10 they are way off and the actual color of the lipstick is no where near what they show them to be. However, that was NOT the case with these! I was completely shocked at just how accurate the color blocks on these lipsticks were! They were pretty much spot on! Overall, I would have to get the packaging a 10 out of 10 kisses because there just isn't anything bad to say about it.

Now for the actual lipstick. Once I opened the tubes and saw that the color of the lipsticks were pretty much spot on to the color block on the lipstick tube I was even more excited! The first thing I noticed about these lipsticks was just how truly beautiful the colors were. After swatching each one I knew immediately that these would be in my top favorite lipsticks of my collection. They were so pigmented! They were very creamy, literally glided on like butter! The smell is a mild fruity smell, not to over powering and it doesn't leave any sort of taste in your mouth after you apply them. The color comes off beautifully on the lips and that is saying alot considering that my lips are pretty pigmented and the colors looked amazing on my lips even without any sort of base to tone down the natural color of my lips. I would say that I give the formula of the lipsticks a 9 out of 10 kisses! The reason for this is because I think that the consistency is a bit to creamy in a way and if you have dry, lips or chapped lips then these lipsticks are gonna show it. That is the only bad thing I can say about these lipsticks. My only regret is that I didn't buy more of them but hopefully they will still be there when I go back to my store in a couple weeks!

As for where you can find these lipsticks.....
If you have a King Dollar then try there first. Otherwise, try Amazon. I know for a fact that they are on there. I saw them any where from $5.99 each to 3 for $5.99.
You can also take a look at there website to see what other products they offer.
Just click HERE!

Ok ladies, that pretty much does it for my review of these lipsticks.
Below are a few more pictures of the lipsticks I got.

This is Ballerina. This one is by far my favorite!
It's the perfect light baby pink color!

This one is in NUDE.
This one has a satin finish but it almost has a slight frost or pearlescent sheen to it. Very pretty!

This is in Peach.
Very beautiful peachy nude color. It is completely satin/cream finish. No glitter or sparkle at all.

Thanks so much for reading!

How to Protect Your Online Privacy

Ok right off the bat I just want to say that I can not take credit for this blog post. I am just reposting some very useful information that I have came across. A few months ago I was on the StumbleUpon app and came across this newsletter site of sorts called the Daily Zen List. You can basically subscribe to it by email and each day they will send you one email that has some pretty fun topics, alot of them are very useful like the one I am about to share with you guys. Here is the link to the site if you would like to go subscribe to them. Just scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and click on SUBSCRIBE BY EMAIL.

Anyway, back to the topic of this post. As we all know it seems like hackers are everywhere now on the internet. The problem just keeps get worse and worse. Not to mention sites like facebook really not protecting your privacy at all and infact selling your info to third parties. I hate it and want to stop it but if your someone like me, I knew virtually nothing when it came to taking the steps to protect myself as best as I could. So when I got this email from The Daily Zen List I knew right away I had to share it with all of you so that you could take the necessary steps to start protecting yourselves as well. So without further ramblings, I will cut to the chase. Hope you enjoy the info.

xoxo,

1. Use StartPage.com instead of Google Search. StartPage.com will give you the same search results as Google, without tracking you like Google does. For another alternative to Google, check out DuckDuckGo.com.

2. Install KeePass to save and encrypt your passwords. KeePass allows you to make long, complex, and unique passwords for all your accounts and stores them in a place that cannot be accessed by anyone but you.

3. Encrypt uploaded files with BoxCryptor. If you back up files to the cloud, make sure they are encrypted so nobody else can access them.

4. Use StartMail.com instead of Gmail. Smartmail.com claims it’s the “world’s most private email.” The program is still in beta, so you might run into a few bugs, but unfortunately there aren’t many alternatives out there.

5. Use a VPNA VPN will encrypt your connection and give you an anonymous IP address. If that is too much for you, download Chromium and tinker with the privacy settings.

6. Download the Ghostery and DoNotTrackMe add-ons for your browser. Both add-ons block third parties from tracking you as you browse the web.

7. Use Piwik.org instead of Google Analytics. If you have your own website, use piwik.org to track your traffic statistics. Piwik allows your readers to keep their IP addresses private. It’s also free and open source.

8. Visit TOSDR.org before registering an account. If you are worried about online accounts stealing your information, check out TOSDR.org to read an abbreviated version of your terms of service.

9. Switch up your usernames. Use different usernames for different online accounts. No two accounts should have similar names. Do not post your personal information to your online accounts.

10. Consider downloading Tor or the PirateBrowser. Tor allows you to browse the web anonymously. The PirateBrowser is a bundle of stuff that the guys from Pirate Bay put together (it also includes Tor). Read more about Tor here.

11. Join reddit.com/r/privacy. At this subreddit you can follow all the latest privacy news and tips. Also check out their FAQ for other steps you can take to protect your privacy.

A Bit of Therapy...

Good morning Beauties!

I say good morning because it's currently 9:46am. A bit early for my brain to actually want to sit down and write a blog post but I figured what the hey. Today, is a day that I most certainly will NOT be getting out of my comfy pjs. I feel blessed to be able to make that choice. Yesterday was not a great day for me in my personal life. There was alot that went on yesterday and at the end of the day I found myself not only physically drained but emotionally and mentally drained. After all was said and done I was very angry, disappointed and relieved all that the same time. I didn't know that those particular emotions could all be felt at the same time but I felt them. Let's just say that I am glad that day is over and that I had a nice resting nights sleep because I am feeling alot better today. Sometimes things just don't work out the way you plan on them working out. That's ok, really it is. I know you may feel let down or disappointed in the presence of the situation but I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and if something doesn't work out, well then it's because it wasn't meant to in the first place. Time to move on. On to the next adventure.

When I sat down to write this post I had no clue what I was going to write about, only that I wanted to put up a post. Maybe not so much for you, my readers, but maybe more for just myself as therapy in a way. Sometimes you just need to hear yourself say things in order to come to terms with them. This past couple weeks have been extremely stressful for me. More so than any time that I can remember recently. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure not near as stressful than most people have it but way more stress than what I am used to. My body is reacting to it and I'm going through all sorts of emotions and it's just been crazy. All of the stress was coming from one certain thing in my life that I was chosen to do, something that I wanted to do so bad, or rather "thought" I wanted to do so bad. Honestly, thinking about it now, I really don't think I did want to. From the day this event so to speak came into my life, it was complete disaster trying to plan things to prepare for the actual event date. It seemed like one thing after another was going wrong, constant drama, nothing working out. Stressful days, complete let downs, sleepless nights wondering and worrying and even some praying. I am here to tell all of you reading this right now, that if something in your life is causing you this much stress and grief, nothing is working out as planned....and I mean NOTHING! Then you really need to step back and reevaluate the situation and whether you should be doing it in the first place OR if it is something that is really for you. This offer so to speak was something that I was presented with because of my youtube channel and my passion for makeup and beauty. Everyday I see new girls signing on to do youtube in hopes that one day they can be approached to do offers such as the one I am referring to. They think how magical it seems and how important it sounds. I felt the same way. Honestly though it's not. There is always a darker side to everything. There is always underlying rules that you aren't made aware of until the last minute. If something sounds to good to be true then it most usually ALWAYS is. Without going to much into it, I guess for my closing I just want to say....be comfortable with your life in the now. There is nothing wrong with wanting more or hoping for more, praying for more or striving for more. However, you have to be comfortable where you are now in your life and love the life your in now because in the end, if your goal or dream doesn't work out, it's that life that you are going to be going back to and if your not happy with it or appreciate it then you are going to live a life of misery. Strive for your dreams always but don't forget where you came from. Be happy about where you came from because without that starting point, you wouldn't be headed the way your going. You are you for a reason. Your life is the way it is for a reason. Sure it could be worse. Sure it could be better but all in all it's yours and you should be appreciative. Every struggle and every success story that you have had in your life up until this point is the driving force behind where you will eventually end up! You need every single struggle as much as you need every single success. We have to learn to be happy with what we have before we can appreciate anything more.

With that I will close. I hope you all have a beautiful fantastic Tuesday. Love and appreciate each and every single one of you who take the time out of your day to read my posts!

DOLLAR TREE PRODUCT REVIEW: LA Colors Big Bold Lashes Mascara

This mascara can be found at your local Dollar Tree stores for $1.00!
Think that's a steal...hold on just a minute...maybe/maybe not.

Pros: The price. Nice packaging. Catchy name. Brush.

Cons: Very dry formula. Weird smell. Not very black. Waterproof not offered.

Overall, on this mascara I'd say save your dollar, or go buy one of those 2 packs of nifty fly swatters with the flowers on them because this mascara isn't worth a dollar. Although the brush is quite nice, I find that the formula is way to dry to work with. Now I know that some of you may be saying "I prefer dry formula mascaras", but that is not the dry I'm talking about. This stuff is beyond dry. I'ts almost impossible to get any off the brush onto your lashes with out spending half a day brushing it through. Just not worth it in my opinion.

See ya next time!

Happy July 4th!!!

Hey my beauties!! I wanted to stop in an say that I hope each and everyone of you have a great July 4th holiday! I hope it is a very safe weekend for you all. Please remember to NOT drink and drive. Before I signed off completely today to get caught up on my housework, I thought I would post a few great handy printables and lists that I use quite frequently in case any of you would like to print them out and use them yourselves in your life. I promise you they sure make things a lot easier....most of the time, because let's face it, who likes to clean? I found all of these from Pinterest and I highly doubt that at this point there is anyone reading this that hasn't heard of pinterest, BUT if there is then I would HIGHLY recommend you go check out the site because it is literally one of the best things since Nutella. You can find more printables on my pinterest which is HERE. Just click on the album called "Lists, Schedules & Printables".

Checking In.....

Hey my beautiful friends!!
I just wanted to stop in and say hello. I know it's been a week or so since my last post. There is good reason for that though. This past week I have not been feeling well at all. Just out of the loop. Nothing specific but just that overall "blah, I don't feel good" feeling. Know what I mean? Anyway, I think I know what it was and should be right as rain in about three days if you get my drift. *wink wink*
I have some dollar tree product reviews coming up for you guys! I know right!!! Here lately it seems like the Dollar Tree has been such a popular place. I have been seeing hauls after hauls on youtube. I honestly could not be happier. It is about time that people wake up and realize that good quality stuff does not have to cost a fortune! I went to the dollar tree a couple weeks ago and bought some products that I have been using, one of which turned out to surpise me and almost completely got rid of my eczema! You can see the video by clicking HERE!
That trip to the Dollar Tree really was a winner because I got quite a few things that have been working out for me really well and I can't wait to share them with you guys on here. I will always do reviews on products on my youtube channel which can be found HERE! Please go SUBSCRIBE if your not so you won't ever miss a video and we have alot of fun I must admit *not tooting my own horn or anything...ok maybe a little*.
I am gonna scoot for now, lots to get caught up around the house today but there will be a new Dollar Tree haul video up before the weekend is over so click that link above and go Subscribe so you will be notified when it goes LIVE! woot. Have a blessed weekend loves!

My Top 5 Past Makeup Mistakes

This topic was actually requested on my youtube channel for me to do. However, I felt that I could better cover it in a blog post. So, I hope you enjoy. Please feel free to share some of your past makeup mistakes in the comment section.

MISTAKE #1:

Not wearing sunscreen when going out into the sun.
I used to tan so much, both outdoors as well as in a tanning bed. I would even tan multiple times a day and not once would I ever even remotely consider buying a sunscreen let alone putting one on. Are you kidding me? Block the sun? Miss out on being all bronze and beautiful? No way! Never! The sad thing about all that is, now I'm in my 30's and I am paying for that way of thinking. I have very uneven skin pigmentation on my face as well as my shoulders. I also have alot of redness on my face due to over exposure to the sun. I have alot of sun spots on my shoulders from over exposure as well. So, thinking that way in my 20's and not using sunscreen during those times will forever have a lasting effect on my appearance for the rest of my life.
ALWAYS USE SUNSCREEN!
A TAN IS JUST NOT WORTH IT.
There are ways to tan that doesn't require the sun. There are countless self tanners out there that not only give you that tan but most of them create a more healthy looking tan than actually laying out or tanning in the tanning bed normally give you.

MISTAKE #2:

Not using moisturizer.
As I stated above I used to tan alot. Tanning can dry out the skin tremendously. I should have at least used a moisturizer during that time if no other time in my life. However, as I stated about the sunscreen, I never thought once about buying a moisturizer to use for my face. To be honest I always thought that moisturizers were for "old" people. Yeah, how crazy is that way of thinking?! As a result I now have premature wrinkles. I would almost bet anything on the fact that I could have prevented alot of those wrinkles just by using a daily moisturizer. I actually do use the moisturizer pictured above. It is very good and I highly recommend it. It is one of the top moisturizers recommended by Dr. Oz as well. You can find it at most drugstores. I found mine at Walmart, and the best part? It is a very big container that will last you quite a while and it is UNDER $5.00! Now there is no excuse not to be using a good moisturizer.

MISTAKE #3:

Wearing crazy blue mascara.
Now I know there might be some of you reading this that say, "What's wrong with blue mascara?" My answer to that is....Nothing is wrong with it if it's your thing. However, I personally think it is a makeup mistake. I don't really think it looks nice on anyone and can look a bit theatrical or even Halloween-ish to me. I am guilty of really doing this one up in my late teens. I used to wear blue eyeshadow, bright blue mascara and bright blue eyeliner. Why not match right? NO! JUST NO! I am a much bigger fan of using a colored eyeliner instead of colored mascaras.

MISTAKE #4:

Wearing way to much eyeliner!!!
Yikes, I was so bad about this one. I can not believe how I used to leave the house. To me, the darker under the eye, the better. That might be some people's cup of tea but it just doesn't appeal to me anymore. Quite frankly, I'm not sure why it ever did. LOL!

MISTAKE #5:

Practically dead lips!
You know those lipsticks that you put on that looks like a concealer and therefore makes you pretty much look like a walking corpse from the nose down? Yeah, GUILTY! I honestly blame Pamela Anderson for starting this insane craze. Although, she is the one exception that I honestly did think it looked nice on her. I mean I must have right or otherwise why would I have tried it for myself?! Regardless, reality fairy finally slapped me a few good times and thankfully I don't do it to that extreme anymore. Don't get me wrong now, I still love a good nude lip as much as the next person but now I tend to stick with more mauve nudes or pink nudes than actual "concealer" nudes. The only nude like that I still have and refuse to get rid of is the ELF lipstick in Natural Nymph. I adore that lipstick but it is one of those concealer nudes. I still wear it but now I add a bit of a pink gloss over it to bring some life to my lips.
So stay away from the dead ladies, the land of the living is so much more appealing!

Well, that pretty much does it for my Top 5 Past Makeup Mistakes. Don't forger to leave a comment and let me know of some of yours. I promise I won't laugh to hard. (I hope you know my fingers are crossed behind my back on that one.)

See ya next time,

My Favorite Smoothie Recipes!

Hey beauties! I thought I would do a post on my favorite smoothie recipes. I am fairly new to smoothies. I just started drinking them a few months ago when I decided to purchase a Magic Bullet. I must admit that at first I was NOT a fan of them either. It was all I could do to drink half a glass of one. I found that I was wasting so much produce because I was just basically pouring it down the sink. I thought making smoothies was easy but in all honesty the method of making them is easy, it's knowing what ingredients to add together to make a delicious smoothie that can be a bit complicated, at least to me it was. I found that I liked the smoothies that used more fruit than veggies, of course not everyone will be the same in that aspect. I also figured out that although I adore strawberries, I absolutely hate them in my smoothies. I don't know how it is with other smoothie machines but the Magic Bullet does not remove the seeds and I can not stand any type of seed or pealing left in my smoothies. I am a texture girl and THAT texture is just not my thing.
So, basically I am saying that when it comes to smoothie making don't be surprised if you have to waste a few to find out what combinations you like. It's all part of the process.
With all that being said, here are three of my favorite "smoothie" type drinks to enjoy!

SMOOTHIE RECIPE #1
*About 6 or 7 small ice cubes
*3-4 Frozen peach slices (I buy them in the bag already cut and frozen)
*5-6 frozen green seedless grapes
*3 slices of frozen mango (I also buy these already cut and frozen)
*1/2 cup of crushed pineapples with a little bit of the juice (I use the canned kind)
*1/2 cup pineapple orange juice
*Palm full of spinach & Kayle (I buy this already packaged together in a container)
*A table spoon of honey
*One drop of vanilla extract (optional)

SMOOTHIE RECIPE #2
*6-7 small ice cubes
*1 cup of Pineapple Coconut Juice (I buy a glass bottle of this at my HEB grocery store)
*1/2 cup crushed pineapple
*1/2 of a frozen banana
*5-6 frozen green seedless grapes
*Palm full of spinach & Kayle
*4-5 Baby carrots
*Teaspoon of honey

SMOOTHIE RECIPE #2
(This is what I drink when I have a chocolate craving and it's not a cheat day)

*8 small ice cubes
*1 1/2 teaspoons of Vanilla Greek Yogurt
*2 table spoons of chocolate syrup
*1 cup of Vanilla Almond Milk

These recipes will make one glass and are based on how much a Magic Bullet container holds. Of course you can make more servings by increasing the amount of ingredients.
Hope you all enjoy!
Leave me a comment and tell me some of your favorite smoothie recipes!

XOXO,

I Love Summer Tag!

1. Favorite Bronzer for Summer? Makeup Academy Mosaic Bronzer in Shade 2 Sunkissed Glow.

2. Your relaxing in a hammock on a tropical island. What are you sipping on? Favorite summer drink? I love drinking margaritas on summer evenings. They are so cool and refreshing.

3. Favorite Summer Lip Product? I honestly use alot of lip balms in the summer time. They are so good at keeping your lips moisturized and they just make your lips look so casual and delicate (if those words can even apply to lips..lol) without over doing it. Summer time is about being minimal on my face makeup because it is so hot here in Texas. So to answer the question, my favorite lip product for summer would have to be the Nivea lip butters, I especially love the vanilla one.

4. Pool or Beach? For sure the Beach! I love going to the beach and feeling the sand between my toes, walking about the shore and feeling the waves crash around my feet. I love looking for seashells and other beach treasures.

5. Summer= Crazy hair! What is your must have styling product? My Revelon flat iron and my Fantasia Hair Polisher Heat Protection Straightening Serum (Target around $8.00). This stuff is amazing and keeps my hair from frizzing. My hair looks beautiful and shiny all day long no matter the heat or the wind.

6. Sun Bathing or Fake Tan? Honestly, I know to much sun can be very bad for you but nothing beats laying out in the sun to me. Not only does the tan look so pretty but it's just one of the most relaxing things ever.

7. Favorite Summer Nail Polish? I actually have a few but the three that comes to mind are China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy, Sinful Colors 24/7, and I.C.E polish in the color Pastel Teal.

8. Any summer traditions? Yes, we always try to go to the beach every summer! Like I said, I love the beach!

9. Favorite Summer Scent? Bodycology body spray in Gardenia. (Walmart around $6.00), such a beautiful, delicate, summery scent!

10. Favorite BBQ food? Grilled Corn. I can't get enough of it! I also really like macaroni salad.

11. What are your favorite summer proof product? Aloe gel (for moisturizing after being in the sun), and sunscreen for my face.

12. Any summer vacation plans this year? No plans? Tell us about your dream summer trip!
We actually are going to the beach in three days. I count that as a little vacation. Other than that I am not sure. My dream trip would actually be to go to either New Orleans or Savannah and spend a week, take some ghost tours and just photograph the old buildings and walk around and just soak up the history and atmosphere.

Hope you guys enjoyed this little tag. I thought it was cute. I tag all of you!! Let me know if you do it so I can go read yours!

What I've Been Eating on My Weightloss Journey

I wanted to make a blog post of some pictures of my foods that I have been eating this time on my reattempt to get this weight off. I have posted most of these on my Instagram account (you can find me on there by searching for @MissVeronyka) but I wanted to also post them here for those who do not have instagram and also since I am keeping a record of my weightloss on here. Keep in mind that this is not all I have been eating but it is the vast majority of the types of foods I have been eating. I will just mix them up and switch around meals but for the most part these are the types of foods I have been sticking with. If you would like to know more about what I have been doing so far you can watch my video on my youtube channel at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYjqSrZ8Yns
